This program is a South African first in that it focuses exclusively on the workplace skills and training required by staff who work in the veterinary channel. Until now, no formal accredited South African qualification has been available for people who work in this ever-evolving niche field.

Eduvet™ training will empower your staff with information, knowledge and the skills required to really exceed clients’ expectations. It focuses on the core competencies your staff require in their day to day interaction with the public and co-workers, as well as addresses admin skills and product knowledge. It is practical and relevant, meeting the demands in their work environment.

The format of training is accredited skills development programs, which when completed, will eventually lead to a formal certified qualification – “Certificate in Veterinary Practice Administration.” If your staff elect not to do the complete certificated course, they can still do modules applicable to your specific environment (like sales and stock management in Vet Shops), and earn formal credits for such training. There are two components to training. The first is reading and studying the training material online (ie. on the internet) by using a username and password which each staff member will receive upon registration. At the end of an assignment, they will have to complete monkey puzzle or multiple choice questionnaires. If they pass, they can carry on with the next assignment. If they fail, they will have to study the material again and retake the test until they pass, at which time they can move on to the next assignment. The second component of training is physical workshops, which will be presented throughout the country, where they will receive face to face tuition.

We have partnered with industry to bring your staff product specific training, as well as develop tools which will assist them in giving clients the correct information on products you sell in your outlets. We anticipate that this product training will encourage them to recommend these products with confidence, knowing that they are giving qualified information to animal owners, thereby increasing sales. We foresee that more and more companies will join us in training your staff on their product ranges through this vehicle in future.

As part of our value proposition we have also linked up with an American program called Character First™, which deals with specific character traits which will help your staff master their workplace challenges. These inserts are not veterinary industry specific only, but co-incidentally, the first one refers to the veterinary environment. (Character First™ is a formal, free standing, staff training program in the USA, costing $40 per month, per employee.)
